The Cytology department at Southern Diagnostic Laboratories is comprised of a well-trained staff with an unmatched commitment to quality patient care and quick turn-around times. All cytologists are certified by the American Society for Clinical Pathology and routinely participate in continuing medical education programs.
To help maintain fast turn-around times, abnormal Pap smears are review by on-site Board Certified Pathologists.
We offer the newest technology available in cervical cancer pap testing. With the assistance from a computer controlled imaging system, our cytologists and pathologists offer accurate diagnoses with remarkable turnaround time.
In addition to Pap smears, we offer in-house high risk HPV testing as well as Gonorrhea and Chlamydia testing from the Thin Prep vial.
Non-Gynecological cytology services are also available.
